Daniel El-Bogdadi, MD, FACR

Daniel El-Bogdadi, MD, FACR, Rheumatolgist, Arthritis and Rheumatism AssociatesDr. El-Bogdadi is board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology and a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology. He graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a B.S. degree in biological studies and received his medical degree from The George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, DC. He completed his internal medicine training and his rheumatology fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, where he also served as an Instructor of Medicine.

Before joining Arthritis and Rheumatism Associates, Dr. El-Bogdadi practiced rheumatology at both Augusta Health Medical Center and Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley. While there, he also served on the Board of Directors of Augusta Medical Group.

Dr. El-Bogdadi is the past President of the DC Rheumatism Society and currently serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Georgetown University. He has also served at the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) as a mentor to fellows in training and on the ACR insurance subcommittee. He has also been a spokesman for the Arthritis Foundation’s “Living Your Yes Program” and is the current Medical Director of the Arthritis Foundation DC Chapter. At Arthritis and Rheumatism Associates, Dr. El-Bogdadi also serves as the Director of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Systems and is a member of the Executive Committee.

He loves to practice medicine by allowing patients to take an active role in their care decision making. He also likes to think “outside the box” of traditional medicine and therapies. He has a special focus on the role of environmental and dietary factors in eliciting and perpetuating autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, gout, vasculitis, and psoriatic arthritis.  He also has an interest in the role of cannabinoids in the treatment of rheumatic diseases and is certified to authorize medical use of cannabinoids/THC in Virginia and Maryland.

He also specializes in Osteoporosis Care and is certified by the International Society of Clinical Densitometry for interpretation of bone density (DEXA) scans and for the treatment of osteoporosis.

Dr. El-Bogdadi has been recognized as a “Top Doctor” by Washingtonian Magazine, Northern Virginia Magazine, and Bethesda Magazine.
