Rishika Chin, MD, RhMSUS

Dr. Chin earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree with honors in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica. Subsequently, she worked in physical medicine & rehabilitation and has provided primary care to patients in rural Jamaica, particularly in underserved communities.

She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Miami/JFK Medical Center after which she completed her rheumatology fellowship at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. During fellowship,  Dr. Chin participated in research on chronic glucocorticoid use amongst primary care providers with the eventual goal of developing appropriate glucocorticoid use for patients and tapering glucocorticoids particularly in rheumatoid arthritis.

Dr. Chin completed musculoskeletal ultrasound training from USSONAR and is RhMSUS certified by the American College of Rheumatology. She has received multiple awards including the Award for Excellence in In-Training Examinations, first place at the American College of Physicians Poster Competition detailing rare manifestations of lupus erythematosus, and the David Fox award for most clinically astute diagnosis from the University of Michigan.

She enjoys caring for patients with all rheumatic conditions, with particular clinical interests in lupus, myositis, and rheumatoid arthritis.

In her spare time, she likes attending concerts with her husband and riding bikes.
