Alisha Zaveri, PA-C is a board-certified Physician Assistant specializing in rheumatology. Born and raised in Baltimore, MD, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences with a minor in Psychology and her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies—both from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. Prior to attending PA school, Alisha worked as an Emergency Department Lab Technician and volunteered as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with her local fire rescue company. During PA school, she served as Chair of Diversity and Inclusion, helping lead fundraisers, volunteer initiatives, and curriculum advocacy efforts. She was also selected as a Future Educator Fellow by the Physician Assistant Education Association and presented at the PAEA Education Forum on integrating mandatory child abuse awareness training in PA education.
Alisha currently practices rheumatology with Dr. Daniel El-Bogdadi at ARA’s Fairfax location. She has a special interest in the role of cannabinoids in treating rheumatic conditions and is certified to authorize medical cannabinoid/THC use in both Virginia and Maryland. She also serves as a clinician at ARA’s Medical Cannabis Institute.
In addition, Alisha is an Adjunct Instructor at George Washington University’s Department of Physician Assistant Studies, where she lectures on spondyloarthropathies, connective tissue disease, and crystal disease. She is an active member of several professional societies, including the American College of Rheumatology, American Academy of Physician Assistants, and Physician Assistant Education Association.
Alisha values compassionate, patient-centered care and believes in a holistic approach to autoimmune disease—integrating therapeutic foods, mindfulness, and lifestyle changes into treatment.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, exercising, and cooking. She loves experimenting with global cuisines and is passionate about the benefits of a plant-based lifestyle. Alisha also speaks conversational Gujarati and Spanish.
